Additional minor coastal flooding is possible around the times of high tide Friday night. * Impacts...minor flooding of the most vulnerable shore roads and/or properties due to height of storm tide or wave splashover. Majority of roads remain passable with only isolated closures. There is no significant threat to life and any impact on property is minimal. This type of event is covered by a coastal Flood Advisory. Personal Watercraft Rider Critically Injured in Crash

Crash occurred in the Lindenhurst Cut of Great South Bay on Sunday, July 20, 2014 at approximately 5:25 p.m.

Suffolk County, NY - July 20, 2014 - Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are investigating a crash that critically injured a man riding a personal watercraft today.
 
Roldando Moreno was riding a Yamaha WaveRunner in the Lindenhurst cut of the Great South Bay when he jumped the wake from a boat and crashed into a 23-foot Chapparal boat at approximately 5:25 p.m.  
 
Moreno, 45, of Huntington Station, was transported to shore by another boater and taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip where he was admitted in critical condition. No one on the boat was injured.
 
Detectives are asking anyone with information on this crash to call the First Squad at 631-854-8152.
