"Storm Watch" ...Storm watch in effect from late Sunday night through late Monday night... The National Weather Service in Upton has issued a storm watch... which is in effect from late Sunday night through late Monday night. * Winds and seas...northeast winds 40 to 45 kt with gusts up to 60 kt on ocean...35 to 40 kt with gusts to 50 kt on the nearshore waters. Seas 16 to 21 feet on the ocean...and 5 to 10 ft on Long Island Sound. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A storm watch is issued when the risk of storm force winds of 48 to 63 kt has significantly increased...but the specific timing and/or location is still uncertain. SCPD Crime Alert: Rocky Point Bank Robbed

Suffolk County Police Pattern Crime Unit detectives are investigating a bank robbery that occurred at a bank in Rocky Point this morning.

Rocky Point, NY - July 19th, 2014 - Suffolk County Police Pattern Crime Unit detectives are investigating a bank robbery that occurred at a bank in Rocky Point this morning.
 
A man entered Bridgehampton National Bank, located at 75 Route 25A, at 9:44 a.m. and approached a teller with a note demanding cash. The teller complied with the robber’s demands and gave him cash from the drawer. The man fled on foot eastbound on Route 25A.
 
The suspect is described as white, approximately 6 feet tall, thin and approximately 45 to 50 years old. He was wearing a beige sweatshirt, blue jeans and a baseball cap.
 
The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
