Hempstead Man Arrested for Murdering Teen with Machete

Hempstead, NY - July 19th, 2014 - Homicide Squad detectives report the arrest of a Hempstead man for a homicide that occurred in Hempstead on Friday, 07/18/14 at 5:25 P.M.
 
According to detectives, David Sadler, 45, of  Albermarle Ave., while in front of 79 Albermarle Ave., became involved in a verbal altercation with Terrance Grier, 17, of Hempstead, and struck him in the neck with a machete.  Defendant Sadler fled the scene and was located a short time later by Hempstead Police on Henry St., where he was placed under arrest.
 
Nassau County Police Ambulance transported Grier to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead by a staff physician at 6:08 P.M.
 
Sadler is being charged with Murder 2nd Degree and will be arraigned on Saturday, 07/19/14 in First District Court, Hempstead.
