Franklin Square, NY - July 18, 2017 - Fifth Squad detectives are investigating an attempted robbery that occurred in Franklin Square on Monday, July 17, 2017 at 10:31 A.M.
 
According to detectives, a male subject armed with a small knife approached a male victim, 21, who was walking on Franklin St./Hempstead Tpke., and demanded he empty his pockets. The victim did not comply, but instead ran away. The subject did not pursue him.
 
No injuries were reported.
 
The subject is described as a male black, with short hair or possibly bald, bearded, wearing a dark shirt and blue jeans. No further description is available at this time.
