'Ghost in the Shell' Director Praises Scarlett Johansson on Tom Needham’s The Sounds of Film

The director of Ghost in the Shell, Rupert Sanders, will be Tom Needham’s special guest this Thursday at 6 P.M. on WUSB’s The Sounds of Film.

Stony Brook, NY - July 12, 2017 - Rupert Sanders, the director of Ghost in the Shell, will join Tom Needham this Thursday on The Sounds of Film on WUSB.
 
Scarlett Johansson stars in Ghost in the Shell, a film set in a world where people are enhanced with technology. Johansson plays Major, who is a human mind inside an artificial body designed to fight the war against cyber-crime. When Major discovers that a corporation lied about her past life in order to control her, she sets out to unravel the mystery of her true identity.  The Paramount Blu-ray and DVD also stars Takeshi Kitano, Michael Carmen Pitt, Pilou Asbaek, Chin Han, and Juliette Binoche. The Ghost in the Shell Blu-ray also features bonus material with acclaimed-director Rupert Sanders, other cast members, and crew.  
 
Rupert Sanders made his feature directing debut with Universal’s Snow White and the Huntsman. The film grossed nearly $400 million worldwide. Before directing features, he was an award-winning commercial director. In 2008, he swept the Clios, ANDYS, Addy’s, AICP, D&AD and Cannes awards for his Halo spots.
