Brentwood, NY - July 12, 2015 - This summer, Brentwood resident Anthony Rizzuto is touring the United States on a trip like no other. The 18-year-old Brentwood High School graduate is performing on the Drum Corps International tour with Southern New Jersey marching ensemble, Jersey Surf. Rizzuto will be joining 149 other members to learn, perfect, and perform a 12-minute competitive field show featuring brass instruments, drums, and color guard members.

After two weeks of intense 14-hour rehearsals in June, Jersey Surf will set off on a two-month tour across the country, featuring competitions in Minneapolis, San Antonio, Atlanta, and the World Championships in Indianapolis.

After playing snare drum for many years in all-age DCA corps and the Brentwood Marching Band, Rizzuto is excited to head on tour with DCI, “marching music’s major league.” The constant on-the-go lifestyle of tour is not always easy but Rizzuto says, “I live to march,” so he enjoys working hard with his friends all summer long.

Jersey Surf begins touring on July 2nd with their season opener at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, MA before heading to Clifton, NJ on July 5th. The corps will be back in the area on July 31st to kick off their 25th anniversary weekend with a performance at the Camden Riversharks game and the August 1st regional competition at J. Birney Crum Stadium in Allentown, PA.
