The National Weather Service in New York has issued a Wind Advisory...which is in effect until 2 am EDT Thursday. * Locations...coastal Connecticut from New Haven east...and all of Suffolk County Long Island. * Hazards...strong winds. * Winds...north 25 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph. * Timing...until 2 am. * Impacts...strong northerly winds may down power lines and a few trees...and make driving difficult on elevated roadways and bridges. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Wind Advisory is issued when sustained winds of 31 to 39 mph... or gusts of 46 to 57 mph...are expected or occurring. Winds this strong can make driving difficult...especially for high profile vehicles. Man Arrested for Attempted Burglary in Bethpage

Second Squad detectives report the details of an arrest for an attempted burglary that occurred in Bethpage on Friday, 07/11/14 at 12:40 P.M.

Bethpage, NY - July 12th, 2014 - Second Squad detectives report the details of an arrest for an attempted burglary that occurred in Bethpage on Friday, 07/11/14 at 12:40 P.M.
 
According to detectives, Carlos Boles, 47, (address unknown) attempted to enter a residence on Elaine Drive, by prying off a window screen in the rear of the home.  The homeowner heard a noise and upon looking out a rear door, observed the defendant, who then ran away.  The victim then notified police with a description of the defendant. Second Precinct police officers located the defendant a short time later in the area and placed him under arrest.
 
Boles is being charged with Attempted Burglary 2nd Degree and was arraigned on Saturday, 07/12/14 in First District Court, Hempstead.
