"Heat Advisory" ...Heat advisory now in effect from noon to 8 PM EDT Monday... * heat index values...around 100 due to temperatures near 90...and dewpoints in the lower 70s. * Timing...highest heat indices Monday afternoon. * Impacts...the combination of the heat and humidity will increase the risk for heat related health issues...especially for the elderly...those with chronic health problems such as lung and heart disease...those working outdoors...and other heat sensitive groups of people. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A heat advisory is issued when the combination of heat and humidity is expected to make it feel like it is 100 to 104 degrees for two consecutive hours. To reduce risk during outdoor work the occupational safety and health administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. 23rd Annual Lobster Fest in Southold

Southold, NY - July 11, 2014 - Come one.  Come all.  The 23rd Annual Lobster Fest hosted by the Rotary Clubs of Greenport and Southold is the best ticket in town.  Join in for a fun-filled community event on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Founders Landing Wharf House in Southold. 
Sponsored by Suffolk County National Bank to benefit local community service projects for Rotary, tickets are $40 for adults if purchased in advance and $45 the day of the event.  Treat yourself to a delicious lobster or steak dinner complete with local corn and watermelon served from 5 pm – 8 pm.  Enjoy continuous live music until 9:30 pm.  Kid’s meals for the 12 and under crowd are $7 and include a choice of hamburger or hot dog.
