Freeport, NY - July 5, 2015 - First Squad detectives report the details of an arrest for an assault that occurred in Freeport on Saturday, 07/04/15 at 9:04 P.M.
According to detectives, Alfred Santiago, 36, of Freeport, while in front of 90B Broadway was involved in a physical altercation with several males. After getting kicked several times by the males, the defendant went home, retrieved a machete and went back to the same location. The defendant located one of the males, 23, who had kicked him earlier, and then struck him on the hand with the machete.
The victim, who suffered a laceration to the hand, was transported to a local hospital for treatment. No other injuries were reported.
Santiago is being charged with Assault 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th Degree and will be arraigned on Sunday, 07/05/15 in First District Court, Hempstead.
