"Special Statement" ...Some icy spots possible early Monday morning... Temperatures will drop below freezing across portions of Suffolk County under clear skies this evening. Clouds will move in from the west by midnight and precipitation will overspread the area just before sunrise. The precipitation may start out as a mix of light rain and wet snow before changing to plain rain around 7 am. Huntington Station Senior Found Dead at Bottom of Backyard Pool

Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the death of a 93-year-old man that was found unresponsive in his pool last evening.

Huntington Station, NY - July 4th, 2014 - Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the death of a 93-year-old man that was found unresponsive in his pool last evening.
 
Curt Thiele, of 3 Stafford Drive, Huntington Station, was observed at the bottom of his pool by a relative who called 911 at approximately 5:25 p.m.  First responders arrived on scene, pulled him out of the pool and initiated CPR.  Huntington Community First Aid transported him to Huntington Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
 
The Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner will perform an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
