The LIRR has teamed up with the city to create a Getaway Package that offers a 26% discount off the regular cost of train fare and beach admission, plus valuable merchant discounts and free rides on the City of Long Beach’s shuttle bus and trolley loop to Long Beach’s West End, home to many great restaurants. Enjoy the ambiance of a seaside resort, just a short train ride from Penn Station, Brooklyn or Jamaica. Just a few blocks from the LIRR's Long Beach Station, Long Beach offers unsurpassed ocean swimming, summer concerts and arts festivals. Hourly service is available from Penn Station, Brooklyn and Jamaica.

Jones Beach and the Jones Beach Theater

The most renowned of all Long Island State parks, Jones Beach features one of the world's finest beaches, refreshing ocean surf, swimming pools and the waterfront entertainment venue, the Jones Beach Theater. The LIRR Jones Beach Getways Package includes discounted one-day, round-trip rail to Freeport Station and NICE N88 bus transportation to the East or West Bathhouses or Jones Beach’s Centre Mall. Train service is available about every half hour. Connecting NICE buses leave Freeport starting every 30 minutes from 8:35 AM to 6:35 PM, the last bus leaves at 7:35 PM. From Jones Beach service will run every 30 minutes from 9 AM to 7 PM, the last bus is at 8 PM. LIRR customers can also save by using the LIRR Jones Beach Package to get to the famed Jones Beach Theatre. Bus service is available before and following each
event and Jones Beach Theatre is again offering the hottest superstar musical acts.


Robert Moses State Park

Take the LIRR to Babylon Station and walk downstairs for the S-47 Suffolk Bus. SUNKEN FOREST AT SAILORS’ HAVEN

Take the LIRR to Sayville Station and board a Colonial Taxi to the Sayville Ferry. Sailor’s Haven, considered the crown jewel of the Fire Island National Seashore, and is home to the Sunken Forest.  Sunbathe on a pristine ocean beach or take a walk on the beautiful 1.5 mile nature trail through Sunken Forest – an enchanting 300 year-old primeval holly forest situated below the primary dune. Guided tours of the forest are provided by the Fire Island National Park Service.

DAVIS PARK

Take the LIRR to Patchogue Station, and board Lindy's Taxi to the Davis Park Ferry. On one end, a huge boat-filled marina, on the other magnificent ocean waves form this community's great landscape. WATCH HILL

Take the LIRR to Patchogue Station. Watch Hill Ferry terminal is a short walk west on Division St., then south on West Ave... Lounge in the sun on a peaceful beach on secluded shores or walk the nature trails.

Beach Getaway Tickets
Beach package tickets may be purchased at gray, green or blue ticket machines and at open ticket offices. All ticket machines accept credit and debit cards; gray and green machines also accept cash. Select "Deals & Getaways," then "Beach Getaways" followed by the package of your choice. Open ticket offices accept cash, personal checks, credit and debit cards. Rail tickets are valid for 60 days from date of sale and refundable for 60 days - subject to $10 refund processing fee.  Admission tickets are only valid on dates indicated for each package. Fire Island package tickets that include ferry/taxi must be used on the same day and are not valid after 5:30 PM on Fridays. Customers are advised to check ferry and connecting train information prior to their trip.
