NCPD: Hit and Run Crash in New Hyde Park

New Hyde Park, NY - July 1, 2014 - Homicide Squad detectives are investigating a Leaving the Scene of a Serious Auto Accident involving a pedestrian that occurred on June 30, 2014 at 9:54 pm in New Hyde Park.
 
According to detectives, after exiting a bus on Hillside Avenue east of Lakeville Road, the 62 year old male victim, who then attempted to cross Hillside Avenue, was struck by a vehicle that was traveling eastbound on Hillside Avenue. The unknown operator of that vehicle then fled the scene failing to identify themselves.
 
The victim, who suffered multiple trauma injuries, was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
 
A subsequent investigation by detectives disclosed that the vehicle that fled the scene is a 1997- 1999 white Toyota Camry.
