"Heat Advisory" ...Heat advisory remains in effect until 6 PM EDT Friday... * heat index values...in the upper 90s due to temperatures in the mid 80s, and dewpoints in the upper 60s. * Timing...into early Friday evening. The highest heat index values will occur mainly during the afternoon. * Impacts...the heat and humidity may cause heat stress during outdoor exertion or extended exposure. Extreme heat can cause illness and death among the at-risk population who can not stay cool. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A heat advisory is issued when the combination of heat and humidity is expected to make it feel like it is 95 to 99 degrees for two or more consecutive days, or 100 to 104 degrees for any length of time. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the occupational safety and health administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Suffolk Police Seeking Driver Who Fled Scene of Coram Building Crash

On Sunday, June 11 at approximately 9 p.m., a white Lincoln Aviator crashed into the rear of Your Nail Spa III, according to officials.

SCPD are seeking the public’s help in locating the person who fled the scene after crashing into a building in Coram earlier this month.

Coram, NY - June 28, 2017 - Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Sixth Precinct Crime Section officers are seeking the public’s help in identifying and locating the person who fled the scene after crashing into a building in Coram earlier this month.
 
On Sunday, June 11 at approximately 9 p.m., a white Lincoln Aviator crashed into the rear of Your Nail Spa III, 1879-2 Route 112, Coram in the Handy Pantry Shopping Center, causing significant structural damage to the building.
 
The vehicle sustained damage including broken tail lights, shattered rear windshield and shattered rear driver’s side window. The driver of the vehicle fled from the scene.
 
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
