NCPD: Bellmore Man Arrested After Caught Selling Proceeds from Garden City Burglary

Garden City, NY - June 28, 2017 - Garden City Detectives along with the Nassau County Police Departments Burglary Pattern Team Detectives report the arrest of a Bellmore man for incidents that occurred on December 24th 2016.
 
According to detectives, Brian Tierney, 23, sold four watches valued at $4,700.00 to Collectors Coin & Jewelry, 400 Sunrise Highway, Massapequa Park, at 1:25 pm. Tierney, at 1:49 pm that same day, sold electronic devices worth $1,500.00 to Paymore, 581 Broadway.
 
On both occasions, the property that was sold by Tierney was found to be proceeds from a burglary that occurred on December 23rd, 2016 from a St. James Street home in Garden City.
 
A subsequent investigation by detectives led to the identity of Tierney who was located on Ring Road in Garden City at 6:50 pm, June 27, 2017 and was placed under arrest without incident.
 
Tierney is charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 3rd Degree and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th Degree. He will be arraigned in First District Court, Hempstead on 6/28/2017.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
