SCSPCA Charges Centereach Man with Animal Cruelty

The SCSPCA has charged a Centereach man with Animal Cruelty for "Failure to Provide Proper Sustenance", a misdemeanor charge under NYS Agriculture and Markets Law.

Terral Ellis, 34, is charged with animal cruelty for leaving a dog in an abandoned home in Centereach with no food or water for more than 24 hours.

Centereach, NY - June 28, 2016 - The Suffolk County SPCA has charged a Centereach man with Animal Cruelty for "Failure to Provide Proper Sustenance", a misdemeanor charge under NYS Agriculture and Markets Law on June 27, 2016..

Chief Roy Gross alleges that Terral Ellis, 34, who was living in an abandoned home in Centereach, left a dog in a house with no food or water for more than 24 hours.  The interior conditions the dog was living in were deplorable. The dog appeared to be dehydrated and was covered with its own excrement. The male pit bull was transported by Brookhaven Animal Shelter to their facility.  The Town boarded up the house.

Ellis will appear in First District Court in Central Islip on August 25, 2016.
