Lindenhurst, NY - June 27, 2013 - Deputy Presiding Officer Wayne R. Horsley presented Eagle Scout Gregory Cummings of Lindenhurst with a proclamation as he received the prestigious Eagle Scout Award. Although many Scouts begin the difficult journey which leads them to the pinnacle of their scouting careers, only a small percentage actually achieves their goal and receives the esteemed Eagle Scout Award. ]

When Greg selected his Eagle project he knew it had to center around the school where his Scouting journey began. He drafted plans to build a bench/planter at West Gates Elementary School. With assistance from local merchants and donations, he was able to purchase cedar so that the planter would last for many years. The planter enhances the front entrance of the school in Lindenhurst.

Greg is a proud member of Boy Scout Troop 183 in West Babylon. Many of his family members, friends, and peers were present for this momentous occasion. Pictured are Deputy Presiding Officer Wayne R. Horsley and Eagle Gregory Cummings
