"Areal Flood Advisory" The National Weather Service in Upton NY has issued a * flood advisory for minor flooding in poor drainage areas for... western Suffolk County in southeastern New York... * until 200 PM EDT * at 1158 am EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Overflowing poor drainage areas will result in minor flooding in the advisory area. Radar estimates that one half to one inch of rain has already fallen, and that additional rainfall of up to one half inch is likely. * Some locations that could experience flooding include... Islip, Shirley, Medford, Patchogue, Center Moriches, Holbrook, Bay shore, Sayville, Mastic, Yaphank, East Patchogue, North Bay Shore, East Islip, North Bellport and Bohemia. NCPD Crime Alert: Man Wanted for Robbing West Hempstead Bank

The Robbery Squad reports the details of a bank Robbery which occurred on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at 10:45 A.M. in West Hempstead.

West Hempstead, NY - June 25th, 2014 - The Robbery Squad reports the details of a bank Robbery which occurred on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at 10:45 A.M. in West Hempstead.

According to detectives, a male black suspect, in his 30’s, 5’10” wearing a maroon hoodie and a baseball cap with NY across the front entered the Chase Bank located at 565 Hempstead Turnpike and presented a demand note to the teller.  The teller complied handing over an undetermined amount of cash.  The suspect fled on foot eastbound on Hempstead Turnpike.  There were seven employees and one customer in the bank at the time of the incident.  No injuries were reported.
