Extreme heat can cause illness and death among the at-risk population who can not stay cool. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A heat advisory is issued when the combination of heat and humidity is expected to make it feel like it is 95 to 99 degrees for two or more consecutive days, or 100 to 104 degrees for any length of time. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the occupational safety and health administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. SCPD: Man Wanted for Stealing Credit Card

Police are looking for a man who stole a credit card from a car parked outside a gym in Setauket.

Setauket, NY - June 24, 2014 - Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Sixth Squad detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the man who used credit cards stolen from a vehicle in Setauket earlier this year.
 
A purse was stolen from an unlocked 2004 Volvo that was parked in the parking lot of World Gym, located at 384 Pond Path, on April 24 between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. Credit cards that were in the purse were used to make purchases at four different locations.
 
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
