Bay Shore Man Killed in Motorcycle Crash in Brentwood

Bay Shore, NY - June 23rd, 2014 - Suffolk County Police Third Squad detectives are investigating a motorcycle crash that killed a Bay Shore man early this morning.

Jimmy Espinal was operating a 2002 Honda motorcycle southbound on 1st Avenue at 4:20 a.m. when he failed to negotiate a turn at 9th Avenue, struck the curb and crashed into a road sign and a fence.

Espinal, 24, of Bay Shore, was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.

The motorcycle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to contact the Third Squad at 631-854-8352 or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
