Brentwood Woman Arrested After Helping Teenage Daughter in Fight

Suffolk County Police today arrested a mother after she helped her teen-aged-daughter in a fight with another teenager in Brentwood today.

Brentwood, NY - June 20th, 2014 - Suffolk County Police today arrested a mother after she helped her teen-aged-daughter in a fight with another teenager in Brentwood today.

Dorka Lopez, 41, drove her 15-year-old daughter to Regis Park, located on MacArthur Avenue in Brentwood, to fight another 15-year-old girl.  Lopez watched the girls fight, and at one point, she grabbed the victim’s head and pushed her to the ground.  Approximately 20-30 teenagers had gathered at the park.

Third Precinct officers arrested Lopez, of Merrill Street, Brentwood, and charged her with Harassment 2nd Degree and two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.  She will be held at the Fourth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on June 20.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
