"Flash Flood Watch" ...Flash Flood Watch in effect from midnight EDT tonight through Monday morning... The National Weather Service in Upton has issued a * Flash Flood Watch for portions of northeast New Jersey and southeast New York, including the following areas, in northeast New Jersey, eastern Bergen, eastern Essex, eastern Passaic, eastern Union, Hudson, western Bergen, western Essex, western Passaic, and western Union. In southeast New York, Bronx, Kings (brooklyn), New York (manhattan), northern Nassau, northern Queens, northwestern Suffolk, Orange, Richmond (staten island), Rockland, southern Nassau, southern Queens, southern Westchester, and southwestern Suffolk. * From midnight EDT tonight through Monday morning * an area of low pressure will develop along a frontal boundary to our south and pass just south and east of Long Island. Rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches an hour are possible and may lead to flash flooding the New York City Metro and surrounding areas. Flash flooding will also be possible for portions of the lower Hudson Valley. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Suffolk Police: Multiple Amityville Churches Damaged with Satanic Graffiti

Three houses of worship defaced with spray painted satanic graffiti, officials say.

SCPD are investigating three instances of Criminal Mischief as a hate crime that occurred at churches in North Amityville.

North Amityville, NY - June 19, 2017 - Suffolk County Police Hate Crime Section detectives are investigating four instances of Criminal Mischief as a hate crime that occurred at churches in North Amityville between Friday, June 16, 2017 and Saturday, June 17, 2017. 
An unknown person or people spray painted satanic graffiti at Shaw Temple A.M.E. Zion Church, located at 471 Albany Ave., Zion Gospel Church, located at 90 Warren St., Amityville Full Gospel Tabernacle, located at 30 Brefni St., and Prayer Tabernacle Church of God in Christ, located at 3550 Great Neck Road sometime between 9:30 p.m. Friday, June 16 and 10:55 a.m. Saturday, June 17.
The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to call Hate Crimes Section at 631-852-6323 or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
