NCPD: Fatal Auto Accident Involving Bicyclist in West Hempstead

A 13-year-old girl was struck by a woman driving a Cadillac in West Hempstead.

West Hempstead, NY - June 19, 2014 - Homicide Squad detectives report the details of a Fatal Vehicular Auto Accident involving a bicyclist that occurred on June 18, 2014 at 3:03 pm in West Hempstead.
 
According to detectives, while traveling on her bicycle southbound on Park Avenue and attempting to cross Eagle Avenue, the 13 year old female was struck by a 2002 Cadillac that was traveling westbound on Eagle Avenue and was being driven by a 24 year old female.
 
The bicyclist was transported to a local hospital and was pronounced deceased at 3:57 pm by a staff physician. The name of the victim is being withheld by request of the family.
 
The vehicle was impounded from the scene for brake and safety checks. There was no criminality involved regarding this accident.
