"Winter Storm Warning" ...Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from 7 PM this evening to 6 PM EST Monday... * locations...the New York City and New Jersey metropolitan areas...northern Nassau and northwest Suffolk counties...and southeastern coastal Connecticut. * Hazard types...snow...sleet and freezing rain. * Accumulations...snow accumulation of 2 to 5 inches...along with 1 to 2 tenths of an inch of ice. Highest snow and ice amounts will be across northern portions of the New York City and New Jersey Metro and northern portions of Long Island. * Timing...tonight through Monday. Heavy snow late tonight into early Monday morning...changing to heavy rain and/or freezing rain...then changing back to a wintry mix in the afternoon. Snowfall range could be 1 to 2 inches higher or lower based on timing of changeover in the morning. * Winds...east winds 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph in the morning. Northwest winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph late Monday. * Temperatures...in the lower 30s. * Visibilities...one quarter mile or less at times late tonight into early Monday morning. * Snowfall rates...occasionally 1 to 2 inches per hour late Sunday night into early Monday morning. * Impacts...hazardous travel due to reduced visibilities and significant snow and ice accumulations for the early Monday morning commute. Untreated roadways will likely become icy for the Monday evening commute. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow means severe winter weather conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of snow are forecast that will make travel dangerous. Only travel in an emergency. Sneakers and Sandals Annual Beach Ball to Benefit Long Island Cares

Coach Mo Cassara, Elisa Distefano Echo of the Echo Agency to Host Annual "Sneakers and Sandals Beach Ball" in Point Lookout.

Point Lookout, NY - June 18, 2014 - It's game on for Long Island's summer social season, so slip on your sandals and join us on the south shore for Coach Cassara's "Sneakers & Sandals Annual Beach Ball" to benefit Long Island Cares, Inc.- the Harry Chapin Food Bank.
 
We invite you to sip on a summer cocktail as the sun sets over the bay at The Buoy Bar in Point Lookout, on Tuesday, July 22 from 6-9 pm.  This year's "Sneakers & Sandals Beach Ball" will benefit Long Island Cares, Inc. helping over 320,000 Long Islanders who are hungry or food insecure.
 
Tickets are $60 per person or two tickets for $100 and includes unlimited beer, wine and specialty drinks, plenty of passed food, live music with DJ and MC Echo rocking the mic! Dance on the dock or with your feet in the sand (and bay), enjoy a spectacular sunset, great company, tons of fun and a chance to give back to our community.
