SCPD Crime Alert: Man Shot in West Babylon, Shooter at Large

West Babylon, NY - June 15th, 2014 - Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are investigating a shooting that occurred following a party in West Babylon early this morning.

A disturbance broke out in the street in front of 18 Pitcher St. at approximately 12:10 a.m. following a house party and Joseph Wyer was shot once in the leg and once in the foot.

Wyer, 22, of Cadman Avenue, Babylon, was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip where he was listed in stable condition. His injuries are considered non-life-threatening.

The investigation is continuing and detectives are asking anyone who may have witnessed the shooting to call the First Squad at 631-854-8152 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
