Man Arrested in Syosset after DWI Crash, Had Child in Car

Syosset, NY - June 14, 2014 - The Second Precinct reports the details of an arrest for driving while intoxicated, with a child in the car, which occurred in Syosset on Friday 06/13/14 at 9:36 P.M.
 
Second Precinct police officers responded to a call for a motor vehicle accident on Cold Spring Rd./Southwoods Rd. Upon arrival, the officer observed a 2008 Lexus in collision with a utility pole. The operator of the vehicle, Philip Briguglio, 50, of 18 Merrit Lane, Bayville, who had a strong odor of alcoholic beverage and was unsteady on his feet, failed sobriety tests at the scene. His passenger, an 11-year-old boy, who complained of pain, was transported to a local hospital for evaluation and was released.
 
Briguglio is being charged with DWI and Aggravated DWI with a Child Passenger (Leandra’s Law).  He will be arraigned on Saturday, 06/14/14 in First District Court, Hempstead.
