Trio Arrested for Levittown Check Cashing Scam

Levittown, NY - June 11th, 2015 - The Second Squad reports the arrests of three Elmont men for Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at 2:58 P.M. in Levittown.
 
According to detectives, Second Precinct officers were assigned to Citibank, located at 3375 Hempstead Turnpike, for an individual attempting to cash a fraudulent check. Upon arrival officers were told by a bank employee the suspects had left the bank and were fleeing in a Hyundai. A responding officer located the suspect vehicle in the parking lot being driven by Vassileva Ubani, 18, of Monaco Avenue.  Officers were able to conduct a car stop on Hempstead Turnpike just west of Hicksville Road.  
 
It was determined a passenger in the car, Alex Tenadu, 18, of Miriam Court was the suspect who had entered the bank and attempted to cash the fraudulent check. A third suspect in the vehicle was Justin Foe, 20, of Buffalo Street.  The three men were placed under arrest without incident. 
 
Alex Tenadu is charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd degree, Justin Foe is charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd degree and it was discovered during the investigation Vassileva Ubani had open Nassau County warrants for Robbery and VTL violations.  
 
The men will be arraigned on Friday, June 12, 2015 at First District Court in Hempstead.
