SCPD: Nine Gang Members Arrested in Wyandanch Drug Sting

Suffolk County Police have arrested nine gang members after conducting a drug sting in Wyandanch.

All nine subjects arrested are gang members or associates from either the Bloods, Crips, NIC or Braveheart gangs.

Wyandanch, NY - June 8, 2016 - Suffolk County Police have arrested nine gang members after conducting a drug sting in Wyandanch.

The Suffolk County Police Department’s Narcotics Squad and First Precinct personnel conducted an operation aimed at combatting gang members selling narcotics and marijuana in Wyandanch. 

Over a period of several months, nine men sold or attempted to sell either crack cocaine or marijuana to an undercover detective.  Five of the men sold crack cocaine multiple times to an undercover detective. 

On June 7 and June 8, the eight subjects below were arrested by detectives and police officers from the First Precinct and the Firearms Suppression Team (FAST).  The ninth subject is currently incarcerated in a State prison on an unrelated charge and will be charged with two sales of crack cocaine at a later date. Detectives are not releasing his name at this time.

All nine subjects are gang members or associates, from either the Bloods, Crips, NIC or Braveheart gangs.  

The following were arrested and charged:   

  • Isaac Brown 33, Wyandanch, charged with two counts of Criminal Sale Controlled Substance 3rd Degree
  • Wendell Monroe 31, Brentwood charged with Criminal Sale of Marijuana 5th Degree
  • Dasean Player 26, Wyandanch, charged with two counts of Criminal Sale of Controlled Substance 3rd Degree
  • Andre Boyd 33, West Babylon charged with Criminal Sale of Marijuana 2nd Degree
  • Malik McClinton 26,  West Babylon, charged with four counts of Criminal Sale of Controlled Substance 3rd Degree
  • Chester Sonds 22, Wyandanch, charged with Attempted Criminal Sale of Controlled Substance 2nd Degree
  • Maurice Petro 33, Wyandanch, charged with Criminal Sale of Controlled Substance 3rd Degree
  • Moses McQueen 26, Mastic Beach, charged with three counts of Criminal Sale of Controlled Substance 3rd Degree

Player and Boyd are scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on June 9.   Brown, McClinton, Sonds, Petro and McQueen were arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip this morning. Monroe was issued an appearance ticket after posting Station House bail.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
