Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Crash

North Lindenhurst, NY - June 3, 2014 - Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are investigating a motor vehicle crash that seriously injured a motorcyclist in North Lindenhurst today.
 
Roberto Gonzalez was operating a 2013 Kawasaki motorcycle westbound on Sunrise Highway when he came to a sudden stop and was ejected over the front of the motorcycle. Gonzalez then struck the rear of a 2012 Isuzu refrigerator trailer that was stopped at the traffic light at the intersection of Straight Path at 1:15 p.m.
 
Gonzalez, 47, of 109 Oak St., Amityville, was treated at the scene by Lindenhurst Rescue and airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital. The truck driver, Jose Ayala, 25, was not injured.
 
The investigation is continuing and detectives are asking anyone with information on this crash to contact the First Squad at 631-854-8152.
