The National Weather Service in Upton has issued a coastal Flood Advisory...which is in effect from 10 PM this evening to 2 am EDT Saturday. * Locations...along western Long Island Sound. * Tidal departures...around 1 feet above astronomical tide heights. * Timing...around the times of high tide between 10 PM and 2 am tonight. * Impacts...minor flooding of the most vulnerable shore roads and/or properties due to height of storm tide or wave splashover. Majority of roads remain passable with only isolated closures. There is no significant threat to life and any impact on property is minimal. Precautionary/preparedness actions... NCPD Alert: Robbery in Franklin Square

A CVS in Franklin Square was robbed at gunpoint.

Franklin Square, NY - May 30, 2014 - The Fourth Squad is investigating a Robbery that occurred on Friday, May 30, 2014 at 3:15 am in Franklin Square.
 
According to detectives, an unknown male black subject approached a 23 year old male clerk working at CVS located at 640 Franklin Avenue and demanded that he open the cash register while displaying a dark colored hand gun. The victim complied and opened the register. The subject then removed an undetermined amount of US currency and fled on foot in an unknown direction with the proceeds. The subject is described as being 5’8” tall, 190 lbs, 20-30 years of age, white T shirt, dark sweat pants, black sneakers, white socks. There were no injuries reported. There were no customers and one employee present at the time.
 
Detectives request that anyone with information regarding this crime should contact the Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
