In northeast New Jersey...eastern Bergen...eastern Essex... eastern Passaic...eastern Union...Hudson...western Bergen... western Essex and western Union. In southeast New York... Bronx...Kings (Brooklyn)...New York (Manhattan)...northeastern Suffolk...northern Nassau...northern Queens...northwestern Suffolk...Richmond (staten island)...southeastern Suffolk... southern Nassau...southern Queens...southern Westchester and southwestern Suffolk. * Through this afternoon * a band of intensifying showers and isolated thunderstorms across eastern Pennsylvania will track across the area this morning...exiting eastern Long Island and southeast Connecticut by late morning or early afternoon. Rainfall totals of 1 to 2 inches are possible...with localized higher amounts possible. The main threat is flash flooding of low lying...poor drainage...and urbanized areas. Smaller flashier streams may also flood. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Legislator Anker Announces 2013 Downtown Rocky Point Summer Concert Series

Rocky Point, NY – May 2013 - Suffolk County Legislator Sarah Anker recently announced the lineup for the 2013 Rocky Point Summer Concert Series, co-sponsored by the Rocky Point VFW.   Last summer, more than 10,000 people enjoyed evenings filled with music, dancing and fun!  This year’s concert series is as follows:

  • July 23 – Strawberry Fields
    The Ultimate Beatles Tribute

     
  • August 6 – Swingtime Big Band
    Authentic Swing in Living Color
  • August 13 – Streetfighter
    The Stones Tribute Show

     
  • August 20 – Big Shot
    The Ultimate Billy Joel Tribute

All concerts will begin promptly at 7:00 p.m., and will be held at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, 614 Route 25A, Rocky Point, NY 11778. 

Attendees are also asked to bring nonperishable food items for donation to Long Island Cares, The Harry Chapin Food Bank.
