Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Winter Storm Watch means there is a potential for significant snow...sleet...or ice accumulations that may impact travel. Continue to monitor the latest forecasts. , "Wind Advisory" ...Wind Advisory remains in effect until 10 am EST this morning... * locations...southeast New York...northeast New Jersey and southern Connecticut. * Hazards...strong winds. * Winds...northwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts 45 to 50 mph. * Timing...early this morning. * Impacts...the strong winds may down some tree limbs and power lines...and make driving high profile vehicles difficult... especially on elevated roadways and bridges. NCPD Investigating Armed Robbery in Massapequa

A man was entered at gunpoint in Massapequa.

Massapequa, NY - May 25, 2014 - The Seventh Squad is investigating a Robbery that occurred in Massapequa on Sunday, May 25, 2014 at 4:05 am.
 
According to detectives, a 23 year old male victim was exiting his car that he parked on Oakley Avenue when two male black subjects ( no further description ) exited a dark colored SUV and approached the victim. One of the subjects displayed a silver handgun while both demanded the victim get on the ground and hand over his belongings. Both subjects then removed a watch, ear rings, chain, and an undetermined amount of US currency from the victim’s pants pockets. Both subjects then fled in a dark SUV and was observed traveling east on Trebor Road. There were no injuries reported.
 
Detectives request that anyone with information regarding this crime to contact the Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
