NCPD Arrest Woman for Driving Drunk in Oceanside with Kids in Car

Oceanside, NY - May 24th, 2014 - The Nassau County Police report the arrest of a Rockville Centre woman for Driving While Intoxicated violating Leandra’s Law on Friday, May 23, 2014 at 4:15 P.M. in Oceanside.
 
According to police, a witness observed Corina Rusu, 36, of 6 Olive Court, driving erratically to the Stop & Shop located at 465 Atlantic Avenue.  The witness called police who responded and observed the suspect and her son, 2 years of age, inside the store.  Rusu was stopped as she exited the store and after showing signs of intoxication was placed under arrest.  She was transported to Police Headquarters for further testing.  The child was picked up from the scene by his father.  No injuries were reported.
 
Rusu is charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated (child under 15) in violation of Leandra’s Law and Driving While Intoxicated.  She will be arraigned on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at First District Court in Hempstead.
