Long Island...most of northeast New Jersey...and coastal portions of the lower Hudson Valley and Fairfield County. * Accumulations...snow accumulation of 2 to 6 inches...along with up to around a tenth of an inch of ice. * Visibilities...1/4 to 1/2 miles at times. * Timing...snow develops beginning late Sunday morning over western portions of the tri-state...then expands over the remainder of the advisory area Sunday afternoon. The snow will mix with or change to freezing rain across New York City... Long Island...most of northeast New Jersey...and coastal portions of the lower Hudson Valley and Fairfield County Sunday evening. The precipitation will taper off from west to east after midnight Sunday night. * Impacts...snow covered surfaces...coated with ice in areas... will make traveling difficult at times. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow...sleet...or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. NCPD Crime Alert: Armed Robbery of Valley Stream Gas Station Under Investigation

The Fourth Squad is investigating a Robbery that occurred on Friday, May 23, 2014 at 2:05 AM in Valley Stream.

Valley Stream, NY - May 23rd, 2014 - The Fourth Squad is investigating a Robbery that occurred on Friday, May 23, 2014 at 2:05 AM in Valley Stream.

According to detectives, an unknown subject entered the Sunoco gas station at 301West Merrick Road displayed a black hand gun to the 58 year old cashier and demanded money.  The victim complied with proceeds from the cash register.  The subject then fled the scene on foot westbound on West Merrick Road.  Proceeds were an undetermined amount of US currency.  There were no reported injuries.

Detectives request anyone with information regarding this crime to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.  All callers will remain anonymous.
