The Suffolk County Police Department has issued a Silver Alert for a missing Setauket man who may be suicidal.

Setauket, NY - May 19, 2015 - The Suffolk County Police Department has issued a Silver Alert for a missing Setauket man who may be suicidal.

Edwin C. Phelps, 34, of 460 Old Town Road, Setauket, was reported missing at 7:45 p.m. on May 18, by his girlfriend after he made suicidal statements to her.

Phelps is driving a red 2002 Toyota Solara 2-door sedan, NY registration GLY-8402. The vehicle is registered to him.

Phelps, who is of Filipino descent, is 5 feet six inches tall and weighs 175 pounds. He was last seen wearing gray jeans, a black collared polo shirt and a jacket bearing the blue, yellow and white Filipino flag design.  

Phelps is Bi-polar and has been suicidal in the past.

Police ask that anyone that sees this man or the vehicle to please call 911 or the Sixth Squad Detectives at 631-854-8652.       

As a reminder, Silver Alert is a program implemented in Suffolk County that allows local law enforcement to share information with media outlets about individuals with special needs who have been reported missing.
