Wantagh, NY - May 19th, 2015 - The Public Information Office reports the details of an animal rescue that occurred on Friday May 15, 2015 in Wantagh.
 
According to Police, a family feeding the ducks at Mill Pond Park located in Merrick Road in Wantagh noticed a duckling separated from its mother, stuck under a waterfall. Believing the duckling was drowning and unable to safely reach the duckling, they contacted 911 for an animal rescue.  
 
Police Officer Jason Kogan responded to the scene and carefully walked over the cement wall to the waterfall, climbed down and entered the water to reach the duckling. He was able to reach the duckling and rescue him from the water.
