Valley Stream Man Busted With Drugs, Firearm During Traffic Stop, Cops Say

NCPD reports the arrest of a Anthony Daley of Valley Stream, 29, for Criminal Possession of a Weapon and Possession of a Controlled Substance on Thursday, May 18.

Valley Stream, NY - May 18, 2017 - The Fifth Squad reports the arrest of a Valley Stream man for Criminal Possession of a Weapon that occurred on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 1:03 am in Valley Stream.
 
According to detectives, a Fifth Precinct Police Officer on routine patrol observed a 2007 gray BMW traveling eastbound on West Merrick Road with dark tinted windows. The officer affected a Vehicular Traffic stop at the intersection of West Merrick Road and South Corona Avenue.
 
As the officer approached the vehicle he observed the driver moving his arms down near the driver side door and floor and noticed a strong odor of marijuana emanating from inside the automobile.  
 
A brown hand rolled cigarette containing a brownish green substance believed to be marijuana was observed in the center console of the vehicle. Defendant Anthony Daley, 29, was placed under arrest.  
 
A loaded silver colored Smith and Wesson .38 caliber revolver, two small pink clear bags containing a white substance believed to be cocaine and a small clear bag of a brownish substance believed to be marijuana were also recovered inside the automobile.
 
Defendant Daley is being charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, 2 counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th Degree, Tinted Side Windows and Obstructed Drivers View.  He will be arraigned on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at First District Court, Hempstead.
