NICE Bus Kicks Off Summer / Air Show Service to Jones Beach

Long Island, NY - May 18, 2016 - NICE Bus begins its Jones Beach State Park service, the n88 out of the Freeport LIRR station, starting Saturday, May 28. Non-stop service from Freeport will run 8:30 a.m. through 9:00 pm Saturday, Sunday and Monday on Memorial Day weekend and the Bethpage Air Show at Jones Beach.  

Beach service will operate on weekends through June 25 when daily service begins and continues through Labor Day. The bus runs every 30 minutes and stops at the beach’s two bathhouses and the Central Mall. The one way fare is $2.75. NICE accepts its GoMobile payment app, MTA MetroCard and coins (no dollar bills) for payment.  

Jones Beach features a host of family attractions including two swimming pools, a miniature golf coarse, and expansive beaches with a two-mile boardwalk.  The park features 6.5 miles of ocean beaches for surf bathing, and a half-mile bay beach for still water bathing.  Jones Beach is also home to the Theodore Roosevelt Nature Center, which offers educational tours and programs for all ages.
