Suffolk County Hockey Leagues Holding Boston Fundraiser This Memorial Day

Hauppauge, NY - May 18th, 2013 - People all over Long Island were moved by the tragedy that took place in Boston on April 15th. In response, the Suffolk County Hockey League has organized a fund-raising event on Monday, May 27th for The One Fund Boston, Inc., the organization that was created to help the people most affected by what took place on that terrible day.

#SkateForBoston, a Memorial Day hockey tournament, will be a daylong series of hockey games at The Rinx, located at 660 Terry Road in Hauppauge. Games will start at 9am and go on all day. Admission is $5 for adults. Children under 12 will be admitted free of charge.

According to Michael Governara, President of the Suffolk County Hockey League, “We were all moved by the tragedy in Boston, and this is a great was for all Long Islanders to show we care and we want to help.”

#SkateForBoston will also include a Live Auction at 32auctions.com/SkateForBoston. The auction starts Monday, May 20th at 9am and ends Monday, May 27th at Midnight.

Governara  concludes, “I urge all Long Islanders to come to The Rinx in Hauppauge on Monday, May 27th to watch some great hockey action and help support a very worthy cause.”
