Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow...sleet...or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Crime Alert: Man Shot in Farmingdale

Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are investigating a shooting that injured a Farmingdale man early this morning.

Farmingdale, NY - May 16th, 2014 - Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are investigating a shooting that injured a Farmingdale man early this morning.

William Proefreidt, 25, of Cherry Street Farmingdale, was in the parking lot of Café Royale, located at 101 Route 109, Farmingdale when he was shot once in the neck while at approximately 12:35 a.m.

Proefreidt was transported to Nassau County Medical Center where he was listed in serious but stable condition.

Detectives are actively investigating the incident and ask anyone who may have witnessed the shooting to call the First Squad at 631-854-8152.
