John M. Kennedy, Jr. and Nesconset Chamber of Commerce to Host Food Drives at 2014 Summer Concert Series to Support Long Island Cares, Inc.

Nesconsent, NY - May 10, 2014 - Suffolk County Legislator John M. Kennedy, Jr. and the Nesconset Chamber of Commerce are inviting residents to bring a donation of non-perishable food, personal care products, household supplies, pet food, baby supplies to the 2014 Summer Concert Series at the Nesconset Gazebo to support the work of Long Island Cares, Inc. - The Harry Chapin Food Bank.
 
A total of six exciting concerts by some of the most renowned tribute bands will highlight the Summer Concert Series sponsored by the Chamber and Legislator Kennedy. "We're very pleased to once again be partnering with Legislator Kennedy and the Nesconset community in calling attention to the issue of hunger and food insecurity on Long Island by accepting donations of non-perishable food and other supplies to help our neighbors in need," said Paule Pachter, Long Island Cares' Executive Director. Long Island Cares' staff and volunteers will be at each of the six concerts collecting donations, distributing literature and selling merchandise including tee shirts to support the work of the regional food bank.
 
As an added promotion for concert goers each week an autographed and custom-framed drumhead will be raffled off from our "Beat an End to Hunger" initiative. The drumheads will feature many well-known and local acts, including some of the performers at the Gazebo. All monetary donations received from the raffle will support the Long Island Cares' Endowment Fund.

July 15:            ALMOST QUEEN - The Ultimate Queen Tribute Band
July 22:            SIMPLY DIAMOND - Most authentic Neil Diamond impersonator 
July 29:            BON JOURNEY - Listen to the music of Bon Jovi and Journey
August 5:         FLEETWOOD MACKED - Best of Fleetwood Mac & Stevie Nicks
