NCPD Arrest: DWI in Westbury

Westbury, NY - May 12, 2014 - Third Precinct Officers report the arrest of a New York City man for Driving While Intoxicated (Leandra’s Law) on Sunday, May 11, 2014 at 9:20 p.m. in Westbury.
 
According to officers, the defendant Mohammad K. Khan, 31 of 535 W. 51st Street was travelling westbound on Old Country Road in a Lincoln Town Car when he was observed by Third Precinct Officers failing to maintain a single lane. The officers conducted a vehicle and traffic stop at which time they determined that Khan was intoxicated and placed him under arrest. Also in the vehicle at the time were the defendant’s wife and 6 month old female child. The mother and child were removed from the scene by a friend. During the investigation it was also discovered that Khan’s license was suspended at the time of his arrest.
 
Kahn is charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated (Leandra’s Law), Aggravated Unlicensed 1st degree (DWI), Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Driving While Intoxicated (BAC + .08 ), Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, Driving While Intoxicated, two counts of Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Vehicle 3rd degree, and multiple traffic violations including Unregistered Vehicle, Uninsured Vehicle and Uninspected Vehicle. He will be arraigned on Monday, May 12, 2014 at First District Court in Hempstead.
