NCPD Report Suspicous Incidents with Pick-up Truck Driver Approaching School-Aged Children

First Squad detectives are investigating two suspicious incidents in which an unknown male approached two children in Bellmore and N. Merrick on Tuesday, 05/10/16 at 3:00 P.M. and 3:15 P.M., respectively.

The subject is described as a male white, wearing a red/black baseball cap with the letter ‘B’ on it. Detectives ask anyone with information to contact the First Squad at 516-573-6153. All callers will remain anonymous.

Bellmore, NY - May 11, 2016 - First Squad detectives are investigating two suspicious incidents in which an unknown male approached two children in Bellmore and N. Merrick on Tuesday, 05/10/16 at 3:00 P.M. and 3:15 P.M., respectively.

According to detectives, at 3:00 P.M., an 11-year-old girl was walking on Oak St. when an unknown male, driving an older model white pick-up truck, motioned to her to come over to the truck by waving his hand. The child became frightened and ran away.  At 3:15 P.M., a 10-year-old boy was walking on Dewey Ave., when the operator of the white pick-up truck told him to get in the truck.  The boy also ran away. 

The subject is described as a male white, wearing a red/black baseball cap with the letter ‘B’ on it.  No further description is available.
