NCPD reports the arrest of Jose Barahona of Uniondale, 19, for Attempted Murder on Sunday, May 7 in East Meadow.

East Meadow, NY - May 8, 2017 - The Major Case Bureau reports the arrest of a Uniondale man for Attempted Murder on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at 4:50 pm in East Meadow.
 
According to detectives, on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 12:57 am Jose Barahona, 19, discharged a firearm in the direction of five victims in a Cameron Avenue, Hempstead yard.  
 
A male victim, 20, was shot in the hand and foot. A second male victim, 37, was shot in the stomach. Three other male victims, in their twenties were in the yard but not injured. 
 
The gunshot victims were transported to area hospitals where they were treated for their injuries. An investigation led to the arrest of Barahona in parking field 5 of Eisenhower Park by detectives.
 
Barahona is charged with five counts of Murder 2nd degree (Attempt) and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree.  He will be arraigned on Monday, May 8, 2017 at First District Court in Hempstead.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
