Baldwin, NY - April 28th, 2015 - The First Squad reports the arrest of a Baldwin man for Criminal Possession of A Forged Instrument that occurred on Sunday, April 26, 2015 at 4:10 p.m. in Baldwin.

According to detectives, the defendant Michael P. Rumph, 34 of Marcel Road fraudulently used the identity of a male victim by forging a paystub, along with a false letter from the victim’s employer to establish financial security to rent a house in Baldwin. The First Squad detectives located Rumph at his residence and placed him under arrest without incident.

Rumph is charged with Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd degree, Criminal Impersonation 2nd degree, and Identity Theft 3rd degree.  He was arraigned on Monday April 27, 2015 at First District Court in Hempstead.
