William Floyd Music Faculty Raise $3,200 for Student Scholarships

Moriches, NY, April 28, 2014 – Music teachers from throughout the William Floyd School District recently gathered for the 30th annual Music Faculty Scholarship Concert to benefit graduating William Floyd High School seniors who will pursue music as part of their post-secondary education. The event, which was attended by more than 600 people, raised more than $3,200 in scholarships.

“The music faculty scholarship concert is a beloved annual tradition where our music teachers from each school gather to play for a great cause,” said Gordon Brosdal, Assistant Superintendent for Secondary Instruction and Administration and the Director of Fine Arts and Music for the William Floyd School District. “The support they have shown our students over the years has been immeasurable and I know that these scholarships will be put to great use by our very talented students.”

Mr. Brosdal also expressed a special thanks to William Floyd Middle School music teacher Jon Trask, who has been integral in bringing renewed interest and support to this event.
