East Rockaway Man Busted in Lynbrook on Drug Charges, Authorities Report

Lynbrook, NY - April 27, 2017 - Lynbrook Police report the details of an arrest for Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at 8:00 pm in Lynbrook.
 
According to detectives, on April 25, 2017 at 4:09 pm Lynbrook patrol officers responded for an aided case in the confines of Lynbrook where the aided was suffering from a heroin overdose. The aided was administered Narcan and transported to an area hospital for treatment.  
 
An investigation led to the identification of Daniel Burkard, 31, of East Rockaway as the person who sold heroin to the aided. On April 26, 2017 at 8:00pm detectives located Burkard operating a 2014 Ford Fusion on Merrick Road at Blossom Heath Avenue, conducted a traffic stop and placed the defendant under arrest without incident. 
 
Burkard is charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree, Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree. He will be arraigned on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at First District Court in Hempstead.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
