Man Arrested for DWI after Crash with Children in his Vehicle

Hutnington Station, NY - April 27, 2014 - Suffolk County Police arrested a Huntington Station man for driving while intoxicated with his two children in the vehicle.
 
Duhaney Duncan was driving a 2005 Dodge pickup westbound on the shoulder of Jericho Turnpike in Huntington Station last night at 7:55 p.m. when he struck a Nissan minivan that was parked in front of the Brooklyn Pizza restaurant, located at 881 Jericho Turnpike. Duncan and his two children, ages 1 and 2, who were in the vehicle with him at the time of the crash, were not injured.
 
Second Squad detectives charged Duncan, 42, of Oak Crest Drive, Huntington Station with Driving While Intoxicated, Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated With a Child 15 Years Old or Younger (Leandra’s Law) and two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
 
Duncan is being held at the Second Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned today and First District Court in Central Islip.
 
The children were released to their mother.
