Freeport, NY - April 26th, 2013 - On Saturday, May 4th, 2013, the Nassau Zone of NYS Association of Health Physical Education Recreation & Dance, in conjunction with the other Zones in the state, will be holding its first Get Moving NY Event.  This is an opportunity for families to enjoy fun activities together and promote health and physical fitness statewide.                                                                             

“We are proud to partner with the Freeport Public Schools in hosting our Get Moving NY Event in combination with Freeport’s annual Freeport Cares Peace Walk and Wellness Fair”, announces, Michael Gordon, Nassau Zone president.  Many local organizations, houses of worship and the business community have been strong supporters in hosting their annual Freeport Cares Peace Walk and Wellness Fair. “We welcome all of Nassau County to Get Moving with us on this annual day of peace and wellness,” adds, Jonathan Bloom, Director of Health, Physical Education & Athletics of the Freeport school district.

The event is free to all and begins at 9:00 AM with a community driven Walk of Peace, beginning and ending at Freeport High School, with the Wellness Fair and the fun family Health and Fitness activities, immediately following the Peace Walk.  The day will end at 12:15 PM.
