Suffolk County Legislators Spencer and Trotta Recognize Northport High School’s Girls Field Hockey Team

All 18 members of the Northport High School Field Hockey team have maintained a grade point average of 3.5 through the first quarter of the 2016-2017 school year.

Smithtown, NY - April 24, 2017 - The National Field Hockey Coaches Association High School National Academic Squad acknowledges junior and senior players from across the United States who have maintained a grade point average of 3.5 through the first quarter of the 2016-2017 school year. For this school year, all 18 members of the Northport High School Field Hockey team accomplished this goal. 
 
Before the Legislature, Suffolk County Legislators William Spencer (D- Centerport), and Robert Trotta (R –Fort Salonga), recognized the members of the Northport High School Girls Field Hockey team for this achievement. “We, the Northport School District and the members of the community congratulate you on this achievement and for your determination to excel both academically and athletically,” said Suffolk Legislator Rob Trotta.
 
The Girls Field Hockey Team is coached by Gina Walling and the members include: Gabriella Bica, Elizabeth Caccavale, Amelia Cusack, Josephine DeTolla, Ryan Dowling, Olivia Fontana, Maggie Fox, Courtney Healy, Sydney Hernandez, Natalie Langella, Olivia Lewis, Kathleen Little, Julia McGinley, Kristen Nicolai, Sophia Onufrik, Theresa Reinesch, Meghan Smith and Angela Vivona.
 
Legislator Robert Trotta represents the 13th Legislative District, which includes Smithtown, Fort Salonga, Kings Park, San Remo, Nissequogue, Head of the Harbor, and St. James, as well as most of East Northport and parts of Northport and Commack.
 
Legislator Trotta serves on the Legislature’s Economic Development, Environment, Planning & Agriculture, Health,Public Works, Transportation & Energy, and Ways & Means Committees.
