Selden, NY - April 21st, 2015 - A man entered the Bank of America, located at 994 Middle Country Road, approached a teller, displayed what appeared to be a handgun, and demanded cash. The teller complied with the demand and the suspect fled on foot at approximately 10 a.m.

During the initial investigation, Sixth Precinct police officers responded to the area of Elmwood Road in Selden where a GPS device from the bank was being tracked.  A neighborhood canvass led Pattern Crime Unit Detectives to the home of Kyle Konecny where he was interviewed and arrested for the robbery.

Pattern Crime Unit detectives charged Kyle Konecny, 25, of Elmwood Road, Selden, with Robbery 2nd Degree.  He will be held overnight at the Seventh Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on April 21, 2015.

Detectives are asking anyone with information on this incident to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
